Five Reasons Why: I Love These Book Related Websites

Hello!

Throughout the years of having this book blog, I have come to know a few great websites related to books and the like, which i would love to share here on Fighting Books for people who may not know them.

Also – if you know a great website that wasn’t mentioned here, please make sure to write it in the comments, because I really want to get to know even more book related websites!

Therefore I will list four great book related websites (in random order), and tell what they are about and why I love these websites.

  • GoodReads
    1. GoodReads is a website which has all the information that you would need to know about a book.
    2. Most books, even the much unknown ones, can be found on GoodReads.
    3. You can make many book lists, and add books to your To Be Read-list or Currently Reading-list.
    4. GoodReads is probably one of my favorite book related websites, just because it is as effective and functional as it is.
    5. The best function of GoodReads is the reading challenge function which keeps track of how many books, you have read, how many words you have read, etc – every time you have finished a book, you can mark it as read on the website.
  • NaNoWriMo
    1. NaNoWriMo (short for National Novel Writing Month) is a website, most active in November, which challenges the users to write a 50,000 words novel in the month of November.
    2. It accepts any participant and challenges people in a positive way to practice their writing skills.
    3. The website offers many guidelines and helpful advice – given both during the event and throughout the rest of the year.
    4. You don’t need to feel nervous or intimidated, because no one needs to read your story – you only update your word count on NaNoWriMo.
    5. To keep you writing, the website has added achivements/badges as you reach certain word count marks.
  • The Book Depository
    1. The Book Depository is where I always order books online.
    2. They have free shipping and ships worldwide to most countries.
    3. They sell most books – I don’t think I have tried looking for a book I needed that they don’t sell.
    4. I am a bookmark lover, and The Book Depository are so very nice to often add free bookmarks to their packages.
    5. The interface of the website is very inspiring, and can easily be a good platform to use, when you are looking for new books to buy.
  • Wattpad
    1. Wattpad is an online reading platform, where it is possible to read all kinds of stories: fanfiction, original stories, poetry, etc.
    2. It is possible for everyone to add their story to the website, and you can update your book as often as you want to.
    3. Feedback from fans and other writers is a great and easy feature.
    4. It is possible to find all kinds of genres.
    5. Wattpad has a writing prompt called #justwriteit, which they are updating every month, and it is pretty inspiring.
